HotD and De Proef Collaboration

June 8th, 2010

friends

I just saw a posting on the babble belt claiming that for their 2011 collaboration release De Proef will be working with none other then Portland’s own Alan Sprints from Hair of the Dog brewing. I don’t have any other info on it, or know the accuracy, so keep your eyes and ears open. Previous collaborations in this series with Dirk Naudts of De Proef includ Tomme Arthur of Pizza Port / Lost Abbey with a brett IPA of sorts, Jason Perkins of Allagash with a brett golden, and John Mallet of Bells with a sour cherry dubbel. This would mark another exciting upcoming collaboration release after the previous news of the Deschutes/Hair of the Dog collaboration announcement.

Our fizzy beer

June 3rd, 2010

One of the more unusual symptoms from my recent trip through Ireland, Scotland, and England was returning home to find our beer tasted fizzy and over carbonated, guess a few weeks of drinking fresh cask ales will do that to ya. Poor me.  Another symptom is feeling too lazy to hash up a decent recap of the whole excursion. So I’ll just give a half arsed time line and fill the rest in with pictures. It went something like this:

Castle – pub – castle – pint – castle – more money – cask ales – rest – cliffs – haggis – castle – whisky – train – cask ales
