Man, how did this almost slip by me? I heard about it a few weeks back and set it aside for later, well it’s almost later.

This Saturday, Jan 23rd, from 12-10pm Baileys Taproom is celebrating their Cellar Fest. Geoff has been setting aside select beers to be unveiled at this event. Here are a few offerings to get the juices running.

1st annual CellarFest. This new event will be special kegs that we’ve been holding on to for the past couple of years. Some beers that we should be pulling out: ‘06 Alaskan Smoke Porter, ‘06 Terminal Gravity Bucolic Plague, ‘04 Fish Leviathan, ‘07 Hair of the Dog Doggie Claws, ‘07 Butte Creek Train Wreck, ‘07 Full Sail Old Boardhead, ‘07 Golden Valley Tannen Bomb, ‘08 North Coast Old Stock, ‘08 Rogue Glen, ‘08 Lagunitas Olde Gnarleywine, ‘08 Lucky Lab Old Yeller, ‘08 Barley Brown’s Double Whiskey Ale, ‘09 Fort George Coffee Girl, ‘08 Laughing Dog Dogfather, ‘09 Caldera Old Growth, ‘09 Flying Dog Gonzo Porter, Deschutes Black Butte XXI

Keep checking their website for more info. Update! Entry to the event will be $15, this includes a commemorative CellarFest snifter glass and 5 sample tokens. Additional tokens are $1.00 each.

A few beers here are must tries for me.

04 Fish Leviathan – I believe this was back when it was still aged in wine barrels. When Fish decided against continuing their Leviathan and Poseidon in barrels it was a sad day. Hopefully oxidation hasn’t set in, this should be a treat.

06 Alaskan Smoked Porter – This beer never lets me down. A few years gives the hops time to drop back and the smoked malts to come forward more. These just get better with age.

Barley Browns Double Whiskey Ale – I’ve only had a couple Barley Brown’s beers, and have always been impressed. Double Whiskey you say? Double pour I say.

Ft. George Coffee Girl – I had this a while back and Belmont Station and was hooked at first sip. For a non-coffee-drinker I sure do like my coffee stouts.

Anyway, with a list like that it’s hard to choose, and who knows what else will be unveiled.

Actually, the sneaky bastards at Bailey’s (looking your way, Michael) put the deats on the blog… cut and pasted as follows:

Entrance to the event costs $15 and that will include a commemorative CellarFest 2010 snifter glass to take home and five tickets. All sampler fills cost one ticket, and each additional ticket after entrance is just $1.

Yeah, for some reason we have a tendency to not tell people about our events or give very good details for that matter. Maybe that should have been a new year’s resolution. Thanks for posting.

    Patrick,

Thanks for the heads up. I’ve updated the post, hope I didn’t mislead anyone with my entry fee guesswork.

My liver has taken a pummeling the last couple of weeks but I can’t miss this one.

I’ll get something together soon, blogging has just been on the back burner the past couple weeks.
