Aight, so you weren’t sure about if you should go to Bailey’s for their 2nd Anniversary “Annibrew” celebration this weekend? “Well it sounds fun but… “, no, not going to cut it. Here’s why.

  • Block 15 Super Nebula – Imperial Stout (Bourbon)
  • The Bruery White Oak – Wheat Wine (Bourbon)
  • Cascade Bourbonic Plague- American Wild Ale (Bourbon)
  • Double Mountain Terrible Two – Brown (Bourbon)
  • Firestone Parabola – Imperial Stout (Bourbon)
  • Fish ’04 Leviathan – Cask Barleywine (Oak)
  • Fort George Illuminator – Doppelbock (Bourbon)
  • Full Sail Amber – Amber (Bourbon)
  • Hair of the Dog Cherry Adam from the Wood – Old Ale (Sherry)
  • Hopworks DOA – Strong Ale (Bourbon)
  • Lompoc Pagan Porter – Imperial Porter (Bourbon)
  • Lucky Lab Beljamin – Belgian Golden (Chardonnay)
  • Oregon Trail Porter – Porter (Pinot Noir)
  • Rock Bottom Maude Flanders – Sour (Pinot Noir)
  • Rogue John John – Maibock (Whiskey)
  • Russian River Consecration – Sour (Cabernet Sauvignon)

Yah, that is the confirmed draft list… and not even all of it, there are a few “mystery beers” to be tapped, and not lame “mystery beers” like PBR, like what happened at the PIB. So unless you are having a baby this weekend, already paid 40 grand for a Sherpa up Everest, or promised Jack Bauer you would help him out for a couple hours, you should be at this festival. Just remember that you have to knock 7 times to the tune of Shave and a Haircut to get in and the secret password at the door is “Taco”.

So what’s your excuse?

Is this for THIS coming weekend?? August 1st? Time and date, please!

    Doc,
Yes it is, noon on Saturday the 1st. See Bailey’s website for more info. See you there?

    Oh, you’ll see him… you just won’t know it’s him. :-)

Sadly, I have already committed 2 JBPH-hours to Jack Bauer (which is closer to 8 hours in the real world)… but he’ll just have to make do, ’cause I ain’t missin’ (the beginning of) this! (whether or not I’m conscious half-way through remains to be seen…)

See you at… wait, WTF, noon?! *sigh* This whole time I was thinking it was going to be 4, like last year… oh, I’m going to die…

    Maybe you’ll see “US” and maybe you won’t….. We’ll be the ones drinking beer….. ;-}

Hoo-boy, this looks like a mighty find list. Hope the weather cooperates. I had that Parabola at FredFest and it was amazing. Maude Flanders also catches the eye. I recall Ned Flanders from a few years back with fondness.

Er, “fine list.” Although the unintentional double meaning is kind of nice–I am happy to have found this list on your site.

    Jeff,

You’re thinking of Abacus, which is their multi-barrel-aged barleywine… Parabola is their bourbon-aged imperial stout, which also appeared at Bailey’s 1st anniversary (for about 3 hours – tops), as well as the last Holiday Ale Festival (accidentally, for about 45 minutes at the beginning of the fest before they realized they put on the wrong keg)… and that’s about it, far as I know.

As for Maude Flanders, I had it at Belmont Station during the most recent Puckerfest (it still appears to be on tap)… I believe “similar sour smell/sweet taste combination to Duchesse de Bourgogne, with the added essence of nail polish remover” sums it up pretty nicely. Let’s hope Bailey’s gets a better keg.

    Anonimo, you are correct indeed.

(And if Maude tastes like the Duchesse, with or without nail polish remover, I’m in.)

I wouldn’t necessarily say that it tastes like the Duchesse, more than it reminds one of the dichotomy that is that beer.

    For what that’s worth…

Van treated the OBC to some sour samples a few months back and most possessed a very harsh acetic acid profile. If one (or more) of the barrels ended up being base beers in the Maude Flanders, I’m guessing this is the comparison anonimo is trying to make with the Duchesse.

I do enjoy the Duchesse, but the acetic acid is much more subdued and supported by the barrel notes than the RB samples.
