Very late notice, but tonight’s meet the brewer at the Green Dragon will feature Ron Gansberg of Cascade Brewing. Recently I haven’t been all that enthusiastic about meet the brewer, maybe it was due to price shock of pints at the Green Dragon, maybe the lack of interesting beers being poured, but this week is an exception. Unfortunately I won’t be able to make it due to prior plans and Rogue not announcing this until today (a little more notice might have been nice), but I highly recommend you drop in to try some of Ron’s outstanding beers.

On tap will be:

Sprint Seasonal IPA – I haven’t tried this one yet, but I believe it was on tap at the brewery

Spiced Belgian Brown – I think this was the Brugges beer that I had at the brewery the other day and really enjoyed

Double Sour Red – I’d really like to try this beer as I’ve enjoyed the rest of the Cascade sours, hopefully this will show up again on tap around town or at the brewery.

Anyway, if you make it to this event let me know your thoughts on the Double Sour Red. I’m sure I’ll be kicking myself later for missing out on that one.

Thanks for the heads up. I stopped in to grab some of the Sang Royale. A little pricey but totally worth it.

[From my tasting notes] Giant, tart aroma with some oak and light fruits. Certainly had the dryness you’d expect from the style but a thicker base which I think was maybe a result from the Port barrels. Sweet fruits like tart apple and wine-like notes that meshed with cherries and a tangy yeasty finish.

I didn’t get to try the other two brews, but the Double Sour Red was worth the trip.
